When running refuses to happen

This week I was only able to go to CrossFit once, so I decided to go out running the other days.

A few weeks back I was reaching 7km ish before I stopped, this week it has been 2km... very disappointing.

I have now 2 months before I do ToughMudder (an obstacle race), so I shall be running a lot more from now on. So from now on my challenge is to run at least 10km every week. Perfectly achievable and it will let me improve my endurance for running. Not looking to be fast, just to last as long as I can!

As for my fellow team mates... very glad we are all in the same running position! :D

Double unders...

This week has been very good. I have been to the box (CrossFit gym) 4 times and one of them included a session of working through exercises that you want to improve.

For me it was the Double Under. I have reached a point where I can skip singles (rope passes through once) incredibly fast and can do 500 of them easy. My frustration has been the Double Under, where the skipping rope passes twice in one jump.

Today, thanks to coach Beth, I managed to do single-single-double and repeated that 4 times in one go!! Huge improvement! I need to keep practising of course... but that is WAY better than I was doing before. I can actually do some Double Unders!

Always great when you can finally do an exercise you have worked hard towards. Another goal achieved... next goal, to do just double unders together...

Back on track

So glad my motivation is back on track... the running is not quite so, but that I shall soon resolve.

Some major changes are happening to my routine over the next 3 months. I have resigned from work which means I am stopping my membership to my CrossFit gym (which is next to work). I am going back to university for a year to get my Masters.

Therefore, over the next few months I shall be attending the normal local gym to my home. Also, shall be mixing it with some other CrossFit gyms, as I am all over the country for the next couple of months.

And I hope that once I start my university course in September I can settle in a new box. I shall miss my current one... I have achieved so much over the last year. I have gone from being an incredibly unfit woman, to one that can climb a mountain (Scafell Pyke) and only have tight calves. I can now box jump about 20ish times before I am struggling. I can do 50 butterfly situps before I stop and I can do 100 single skips really fast... in fact, I can even run for 8 kilometers non stop!

I have a lot more I want to do, so much more I want to achieve physically...

and the journey continues...

When you run out of steam

This week I have run out of steam... maybe it is the heat in the UK which is unbearable, or maybe because I am seeing little results of late... or maybe because I spent days with achy arms after a hard week of arms workouts...

This week just cannot be bothered to exercise... just do not want to... first time in a whole year!

bleurgh...
